Informations, hours and admission fee

The exhibition is closed from November 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025. (The exhibition will be open daily from 1st April to the end of October 2025 from 8:00 to 18:00.)

The exhibition is self-explanatory designed. We occasionally offer guided tours of the exhibition for groups - also outside opening hours (Target price 100 CHF). Please use the form under Contact for your inquiry.

The exhibition is located at Trachselwald Castle in the former remand prison of the Bernese district of Trachselwald. The prison from the Middle Ages and modern times can be visited in the donjon.

Multilingualism

The exhibition panels and audio texts are in High German and partly in Swiss German. Translations in French and English are available and can be accessed online using QR codes (free WLAN in the exhibition rooms).
