290 Houses, Farms and Hamlets with Anabaptist References in Emmental Parishes

The map covers a large part of the old Bernese bailiwick of Trachselwald. It shows a selection of hamlets, houses and individual farms with Anabaptist references. Such references are numerous from the 1530s to the present. The focus of the selected examples on this map is on the years between about 1650 and 1730. 

This period belongs to the phases of most intense repression of Anabaptism in the Emmental. 

Red Dot : Anabaptist presence on record (mostly incl. various punishments, often also expulsion).
