Wiedertäufermandat - Mandate against Anabaptists

"Wiedertäufermandat" from Bern, May 24, 1714 (Bern State Archives, StABE Mc 56). Since the 16th century, the authorities have published mandates against Anabaptists. These threatened punishments such as "eternal" imprisonment or banishment to galleys for life. But even the mere toleration, harboring or hiding of Anabaptists is strictly forbidden.
